Tokyo Cafe

Located at the Ground Level of Mall of Asia, my family and I always pass by this place when we go at SM MOA but never tried dining in this place until I met up with friends. I will surely recommend that my boys try their food next time we visit. With so much food on the menu, it's overwhelming, it took us a bit longer to choose what to order and I was a bit surprised that a Japanese restaurant does not have any sushi, read more to know why. And so I opted for another favorite of mine, pasta and ordered Bacon Tomato Cream.

Thin spaghetti sauteed in a medley of tomato chunks and mushrooms tossed in a creamy cheese tomato sauce topped with crisp bacon bits. Priced at 215 Php.
And washed my food with their tasty Iced Peach Tea, priced at 68 Php.
I read something about Tokyo Cafe at Click The City interviewing the man behind the nice restaurant... the article says:
Tokyo Cafe is Japanese but not - that sounds a bit odd, but let me explain why. Mr. Atsushi Yoshizawa, the owner, explains to me that Family restaurants which are common in Japan offer 'Western food with a touch of Japanese culture'. This is what Mr. Yoshi wanted to share to the Filipinos, hence, Tokyo Cafe was born. Pass those large glass windows and see that the place exhibits a modernistic fusion of Eastern and Western design. The style definitely suits the concept of the establishment. Hanging red spheres of light and wooden furniture accentuate the plain white walls of Tokyo Cafe.

'We don't serve traditional Japanese food, we serve Western food with unique Japanese touch,' he shares, as I asked him about the food options of his cafe. Their menu include an impressive array of pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, and burgers. For dessert, there are many crepes to choose from, and a good number of hot and iced coffee as well. The selection is quite unexpected for a restaurant with 'Tokyo' in its name, but Mr. Yoshi has incorporated Japanese ingredients in preparing the dishes so expect a little something to give the food a twist.

Which explains that you will never find sushi in there. But I must say, dining at Tokyo Cafe is all worth it, with great friends and good food? Who can go wrong?!?

Thankz for the added info.
Now I know why mostly their food are kinda Western.

Me and my friendz just ate there last Sunday during our PWC-Tourism Dept. Manila Educational Tour. I really LOVE it there.
They do make us feel like we're in Japan with their japanese hospitality (waiters greeting "Konnichiwa" together) and Japanese/anime music playing on the background.

I will go back there someday! (n_n)
